How wallpaper quantities are worked out

Multiply the room perimeter (all four walls) by the wall height to get the wall area, then divide by the roll coverage. A standard 10m roll covers about 5.2 m². Large pattern repeats waste more paper, so round up generously.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many rolls for an average room?

A 4m × 4m room (12m perimeter, 2.4m walls) needs about 6 rolls of standard wallpaper.

Do doors and windows reduce the roll count?

Yes, but subtract conservatively — you still need full drops either side of openings.

What does pattern repeat mean?

A pattern repeat is the vertical distance before the design repeats. Matching it across drops wastes paper, so larger repeats need more rolls.
