At FreeToolsForNow we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect when you use our free online calculators, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

FreeToolsForNow is a free calculator and financial-tools website operated by an independent publisher. We are not a financial institution, medical provider, or legal advisor. Results produced by our calculators are for informational and educational purposes only.

2. Data we collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

• Email address — only if you voluntarily enter it in the email gate or subscription form. You can skip this at any time.
• Calculator inputs and results — if you submit your email, the values you entered may be stored so we can send you your results. We never share these with third parties for marketing.
• Usage data — pages visited, time on site, browser type, device type, and approximate geographic location (country/city level), collected automatically through Google Analytics.
• Advertising data — Google AdSense may use cookies to serve personalised ads based on your browsing history across the web. See Section 5 for details.
• Local storage data — we store your email preference and consent choice in your browser's localStorage so you never have to re-enter them. This data stays on your device and is not automatically transmitted to our servers.

We do not collect sensitive personal data (health records, financial account details, biometric data, or government ID numbers). While our calculators accept health or financial inputs to compute results, this data is processed locally in your browser and is not stored on our servers unless you choose to email yourself the result.

3. Why we collect it

• To deliver results by email — if you ask us to send you your calculation result, we need your email address to do so.
• To improve the site — aggregated analytics help us understand which calculators are most used and where we can improve the experience.
• To fund the service — advertising revenue from Google AdSense allows us to keep all calculators free.
• To personalise your experience — remembering your email in localStorage means you don't have to re-enter it on every visit.
• Legal compliance — we may retain records as required by applicable law.

4. Cookies & local storage

We use the following storage mechanisms:

Essential (always active):

• ftfn_consent — stores your cookie consent choice (accepted / essential-only). Required so we don't ask you again.
• ftfn_email — stores your email address locally so you don't need to re-enter it.
• ftfn_gate_skip — stores whether you permanently skipped the email gate.

Analytics (Google Analytics / GA4):

• _ga, _ga_* — track sessions and distinguish users. Expire after 2 years.
• These are only set if you choose "Accept All" on the consent banner.

Advertising (Google AdSense):

• AdSense sets various cookies (e.g. IDE, ANID) to show relevant ads. Google's ad policy governs these cookies.
• You can opt out of personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com.

You can clear all our localStorage data at any time in your browser settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cached images and files / Cookies and site data).

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policy:

• Google Analytics (GA4) — Google Privacy Policy. Processes usage data.
• Google AdSense — Google Privacy Policy. Serves contextual and personalised advertising.
• Amazon Associates — some calculator pages contain affiliate links to Amazon products. Clicking these links may result in Amazon setting their own cookies. Amazon Privacy Notice.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), or other applicable laws:

• Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure — ask us to delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
• Right to restrict processing — ask us to limit how we use your data.
• Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Right to data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent at any time (this does not affect the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal).
• CCPA rights — California residents have the right to know, delete, and opt-out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

7. Data retention

Email addresses collected via our email gate are stored for as long as you remain subscribed or request deletion. Aggregated analytics data is retained for up to 26 months as permitted by Google Analytics default settings. LocalStorage data is retained in your browser until you clear it.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we take it seriously and review our practices regularly.

9. Children's privacy

FreeToolsForNow is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
