How Paint Coverage is Calculated

Coverage = Total wall area ÷ spread rate (typically 10–12 m² per litre for standard paint). Two coats are recommended.

How much does one litre of paint cover?+

Standard emulsion covers 10–12 m² per litre per coat. Gloss covers 12–14 m² per litre.

Should I subtract windows and doors?+

Yes — for accuracy, subtract the area of windows (avg 1.5 m²) and doors (avg 1.8 m²) from your total wall area.
